Solidarisches Gesundheitszentrum - Poliklinik Leipzig

Nowadays, health care cannot end with medical treatment alone. It is also highly important to consider the socioeconomic circumstances which determine the (ill) health of people. Apart from providing curative care, we therefore plan to focus on community building, preventive interventions and political action. Every user will be recognised as an individual, but will also be seen in his or her social position.

The community health center in the east of Leipzig will be open to all people – regardless of origin, gender, religion or socioeconomic conditions. Counceling and treatment will be interdisciplinary and individualized. Depending on the needs, users can seek support from medical doctors, community workers, lawyers, psychologists and other therapeutic professionals.

We wish to support users in finding collective strategies addressing common problems in the neighborhood. We envision the Community Health Center as a vibrant meeting place in the east of Leipzig, well connected with other social and health care innitiatives in the neighborhood.
