Individuals with mental illness often have rich and varied professional and life experiences. Yet they have dificulties finding employment that corresponds with their strengths and their possibilities. SchönGut wants to create this kind of employment offering flexible working hours, adapted requirements and workload along with challenging tasks. In addition, new approaches dealing with work tasks can be tried out and individual skills can be developed in order to strengthen the selfconfidence and competencies.
SchönGut consists of a retail store selling art supplies, crafted products and a creative workspace. Customers who would like to participate in a creative project can also use the workspace‘ s infrastructure and materials as well as be guided by the employees.
The range of tasks that can be carried out by SchönGut employees comprise the production of handcrafted articles for daily use, decorative articles and artobjects, administrative tasks, purchase and sales, as well as giving guidance to customers.
SchönGut is committed to making a creative and open space, where people with and without mental illness meet and connect.
