• renk. Magazin

"renk" (turkish for "colour") is an online magazine project for the exposure of German-Turkish extraordinary relationships. renk. wants to focus on creative people and on topics that are beyond all clichés.

renk. is a magazine project for the exposure of German-Turkish extraordinary relationships. The idea for the zine came up because there are only very few or rather no Turkish and even much less German-Turkish culture magazines that have a high-quality design.

We believe that there is a market and also a target group for this kind of magazines. The target group is not limited to German Turks but rather we want to enthuse also Germans about our magazine.

Therefore, the magazine will be published in German. Also, the combination of social issues and graphic design and also typography is fresh and unique. renk. shows that extraordinary conditions are the rule and wants to unchain from the cliché of prototype (or: flagship) Turks. Together with this stereotype or cliché an exceptional status is generated that only displays an exemplary minority. It is not suitable as a role model for the majority of young German Turks.

With this platform the life of the new and young German-Turkish generation shall be pictured and also actively co-created.

The individual portraits are made available online and hence a public platform is created that sharpens everyone’s awareness and animates people to actively shape their own environment. renk. supports provocative topics without intending to provoke solely. We consciously search for controversies and deal with them critically.
