MORMOR

Demographic change is not a short-term trend but rather a real societal development that has to be taken seriously.
That is the reason why we as a young product-design startup with our furniture brand called MORMOR have set a goal to use our expertise to improve life for elderly people and people with physical constraints. Our aim is to support these people in everyday life by the means of functional, affordable and well designed furniture, in order to preserve one's own personal mobility for as long as possible.
The furniture's design stems from kinaesthetics, that is the study of body motion, in order to train the muscle system and prevent falls. Technical finesse and innovative rethinking turn the products into aids that offer support and assistance for persons affected and carers alike. The innovation is especially anchored in the novel combination of handrails and conventional pieces of furniture, with which a constant support can be provided, even in personal living spaces.
The modularity of the products allows for an ergonomical, as well as structural adaptation to the needs of people concerned as well as whole care facilities. All this while the formal design takes a step back: honest, high quality materials and self-explanatory function lend life in old age or with physical constraints security and independence without stigmatizing.Contact: Jonathan Geffen, office(at)mormor.de
