ichó is a technical therapy ball which stimulates via impulses of light, movement and sound the cognition of the user and also stimulates his psychomotorical development. The system is developed to offer an alternate form of communication and therapeutic support for people with cognitive diseases and their relatives.

We combine knowledge of physiotherapy, electrical engineering, cognitive sciences and aesthetics teaching to form an interactive modular system which can be designed individually to support playfully the user.
Currently there are no other approaches in the field of supporting and increasing the understanding of dementia patients by the use of technical systems like our focus on this topic.

Our team is a multidisciplinary workgroup which was formed during the research project “Nutzerwelten” with the focus on developing technic supported environments for people with dementia. The awareness of the concept and realization of our project was gathered during field studies in care- and researchinstitutes.
