Hilde Engel
19.06.2017
It is the aim of our project called Hilde Engel to keep people active, to get them together – we want them to interact with each other in a meaningful way and we want them to enjoy themselves.
Age is often being seen as a deficitary model, as a time of physical and mental depletion. However, there are researchers questioning this point of view... and so do we!
We have the idea to detect the upsides of age and thus, use them specifically to help people interact with each other across generations, for example by:
- baking together, for all of those who love cake, for and along with children
- communicating of people reading to the elderly on a voluntary basis
- communicating of people helping primary school children with their homework on a voluntary basis
- making healthy snacks and sandwiches together
- etc.
By these means, we keep the elderly from being isolated and help for them to interact, to remain active and the joy of life which ensures independence up until an old age.Entering the program: May 2017
