Cahoots shows connections of journalists with associations, organizations and businesses. This helps you to understand, which interests may be behind a news article.
Journalists are supposed to explain complex issues to their readers. It is important that they take a neutral stance. Unfortunately you can not always be sure that this neutrality is granted, as some journalists have links with communities of interest that they do not always disclose. Cahoots offers a basis of information to classify interests.
Cahoots is currently available as a browser extension for Firefox and Chrome. After installation cahoots will show in the webbrowser, if the name of a journalist is detected on a site. Cahoots loads the links to stakeholders and links with background information and displays them in a popup or a tooltip.
