• Bridge&Tunnel

We design society: Bridge Tunnel stands for high-quality design that wants to change society. Since the summer of 2015 the social design label manufactures unique design products and thus brings women of different backgrounds and perspectives back to work.

Bridge Tunnel designs - not only unique design but society! All design products are created from recycled fabrics that are locally and fairly produced in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg. All products are manufactured by women from the district who do not have access to jobs on the primary labor market. Although these women quite often possess great creative skills from their home countries, which can be of great benefit for the textile industry.

Bridge&Tunnel provides access to employment, where previously there has been none, and makes its women strong and confident. The plan ist to bring 5 women within 5 years into 5 solid jobs.

Bridge&Tunnel designs accessories and interior design products. For collection #1, we were able to win the danish textile designer Signe Bonnesen who is endued with many years of experience as an accessory and eco-designer. For the first collection she chose denim: A material which is expensive and not very sustainable in its preparation, but persistent in the processing and well suited for a variety of designs. Collection #1: Denim Love includes high-quality travel bags, backpacks, carpets and seating for children.

Future collections are planned in cooperation with young designers from Hamburg.
