eXperience

The fact that there is often no post-treatment for PTSD patients after hospitalization and the search for a psychologist is usually associated with a waiting period of half a year or more creates a gap in the recovery process that increases the risk of further inpatient treatment. The goal of eXperience is to close this gap, to catch those affected and to accompany them in their recovery.

1. Expedition Travel: Nature-related expeditions are intended to bring people out of the stressful everyday environment (city, noise, many people, danger) in a protected group, to increase their self-efficacy and to contribute to the reduction of stress. To prove the effectiveness of this offer scientifically, the Chair of Sports Medicine and Biology of the TU Chemnitz supports us with several medical studies.

2. Self-help groups: Another pillar of our offer are our 4 self-help groups (Mainz, Bingen, Alzey and Chemnitz), in which the affected persons do not talk to each other about their traumas, but actively take nature walks and collaborate with experts to help reduce symptoms. Thus, the burden of PTSD is to counter something positive and to re-establish trust in other people and themselves.
